All About The "No Guts Boxie Pouch"

Don't you just love to hate someone who teases with a free bag pattern, then doesn't show up with the real deal.  Well, blog followers, that's just not going to happen here.

I found this freebee last year and have made almost a gazillion for my friends and relatives and quilt guild fundraisers and I'm here to tell you that this pattern is a winner.   And, it's free to you to download from the Craftsy store.  I've heard that they are going to change the way they promote and sell their classes and patterns, so you may want to go ahead and download now. Whether you use it this afternoon or not....it's yours.

You can't tell the difference in shapes from these pictures, but the size you box the 8 corners (the last step in construction) determines whether the pouch is skinny and taller or flat and wider.    I've started using 1 3/4"  box and like that a lot.   A two inch box changes the shape of the pouch dramatically.

At retreat last weekend, Linda pieced together some 5" precuts for her pouch exterior,   then cut at     9 1/2" x 13" and that also very pleasantly altered the size.  The pattern says cut at 10" x 12".
I usually put a tab at each end of my bag, but Ginger decided to add only one and made it 3" long instead of the 1 1/2" per pattern instructions.  So many ways to vary this little ditty.
So,
Go play.....go box that bag.

Bet you can't make just one!

I do enjoy editing a post several days after the fact....it's kinda like Paul Harvey's "now you know the rest of the story."  I found  Elm  Street Quilts Blog about boxie bags and love the way the handles are attached.
Possibilities are endless.
