What a super idea and challenge to get us off the sofa and into a new chair!
When asked, Diane Redfearn had this to say about her idea for the "Oh My Pretties" Quilters' Guild Acadienne challenge:
"This was just something I thought of while trying to come up with some kind of swap to do to be members involved. I didn't want to do a traditional Round Robin because that is too much of a time commitment for me and I wanted to participate. The swap was basically - you turn in 3 of your favorite fat quarters and they go into a brown bag and are swapped with another member who is to take it and make something for you and they may add up to 3 more fabrics. Nobody knows who received who's fabrics until the finished item(s) are swapped back in a couple of months. So, you are making something and you don't know who its for with fabrics you didn't select - a bit of a challenge too...."
Yes, very successful indeed! As evidenced by these participants pictured with their 'pretty'.
An Amanda Jane apron pattern. |
An apron in Jane Sassaman fabric....no doubt! Cindy models apron made for Kelly. |
Donna seems a tad pleased with her bluest of blue sky "Pretty" she made especially for Shelly. While Ann covets this one from behind. |
The smiles say it all.....what a successful challenge: Oh My Pretties! Quilts and bags, pillowcases, mug rugs and table runners, oh, my..... |
and who can't use more bags and totes.
Beth made this lap quilt using her beautiful fabrics in the colors of autumn.
I'm warming up already just looking at this lap quilt made for Patsy.
Oh, and how pretty is the bag made for Donna
with love from May.
The Borders....oh, the bold borders perfectly frame this quilted wall hanging. |
